Accra, Sept. 15, GNA – The National
Identification Authority (NIA) suggests it
has registered 2,902,526 suitable Ghanaians for the Ghana Card in the Greater
Accra, Volta and Oti areas considering that the registration started on June 4, last
It explained out of the figure, 2,590,526 playing cards
experienced been printed and 1,718,021 cards had been issued to candidates in the a few
locations as at September 14, 2019.
Mr Francis Palmdeti, Head of Company
Affairs of the NIA, told the Ghana News Agency in Accra on Sunday that, 556,559
individuals experienced been registered in the Volta Region, with 523,984 playing cards printed and
395,175 issued as at September 14, 2019.
In the Oti Region, he said, 387,057 men and women
had been registered with 236,348 playing cards printed and 187,643 playing cards issued because
registration started in that individual area on August 22, 2019.
Mr Palmdeti explained mass registration training
finished on Saturday, September 14 in the Oti Area.
Nevertheless, all registration centres with
backlogs of cards will continue to be printed and issued to applicants from
Monday, September 16 to Friday, September 20.
He reported registration centres in the Volta
Region wherever mop-up was carried out will also proceed to challenge printed playing cards to
applicants at the centres they registered from Monday, September 16 to Friday,
September 20, but no new registrations will be completed.
