Kennedy Agyapong, member of parliament for Assin central constituency believes that, most of the contracts signed under John Dramani Mahama’s led administration were inflated.
He revealed that, John Mahama, the then president of Ghana signed a gas contract with Equatorial Guinea in 2014 for USD 2.5B. This means importing gas at that time was expensive than extracting it here in Ghana. He said this accounts to the reason why Ghanaians did not have stable light in his term in office.
He stated that, after president Akufo Addo became president in 2016, he did due diligence on all contracts signed under ex president John Mahama’s led administration. In the process, it popped up that, the gas contract was inflated by additional USD1B.
According to him, Akufo’s administration resigned the whole contract and brought the price to as low as USD1.5B per supply.
He also in an audio below made mention of other government contracts inflated by ex president John Mahama.
