Accra, Aug 23, GNA – The
Folklore Board has urged organisations who use the country’s cultural symbols
as logos and other forms of decoration, to pay back their owing to the
Board.

This is in accordance with a directive
on the use of these types of symbols in Ghana, which has been in existence since 2005.

Madam Nana Adjoa Adobea Asante, Acting
Director of the Board, mentioned this on Friday in Accra, when she offered
certificates to a range of organisations, to reward their compliance with the
directive.

She reported these money were being most needed to

local arts.”

Madam Asante explained when the community arts
comprised an place that held fantastic prospective buyers for work and wealth
generation, the likely of the sector was not sufficiently tapped.

She additional that it was thus dignifying
for any organisation to lead to this sort of a noble result in, for the reason that such
contributions would in the extended expression advertise the socio-economic progress and
balance of the state.

Madam Asante said now,
organisations which experienced not heeded to the directive on payment of royalties to
the Board, ended up having fun with a grace time period, incorporating that when the interval of
leniency was about, failure to comply with the directive  could catch the attention of a three-12 months imprisonment or a [GH¢12,000.00]
wonderful.

She reported the abundant cultural heritage of
Ghana, could be set to successful use and ultimately promote countrywide expansion.

Madam Asante included that it was the intention
of the Board to endorse the exploration of the country’s wealthy cultural
heritage, to its in general growth.

certificates ended up the Kempinski Gold Coastline Hotel, the Ghana Inventory Exchange and
MTN Ghana.
