The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Brainhuas Concept who is a producer for popular Ghanaian gospel musician Sonnie Badu, Winfred Nii Adjayi has stated categorically the popular Highlife musician Kofi Kinaata doesn’t fall within the category of musicians who can be classified as Stars.
According to Winfred Nii Adjayi, Highlife musician Kofi Kinaata is popular but he cannot be classified as a star in the Ghana Music Industry.
Speaking on Kumasi-based Angel Entertainment Show hosted by Ike De Unpredictable monitored by Ghtimesonline.com, Winfred Nii Adjayi described Highlife musician Kofi Kinaata as ‘one-way’ musician saying he is not dynamic to bring something new onboard.
“I’m sure Kofi Kinaata doesn’t see himself as a star because he doesn’t fall within the category of musicians who can be classified as Stars. He may have good lyrics, he is well-known in a certain circle but he is not a star. He is popular but not a star because he doesn’t live the life of a star” Winfred explained.
“Ike, It takes a lot to fall to within the category of star in the Ghana Music Industry. It takes attitude in public, how you brand yourself, and project yourself outside. See how Sarkodie and Shatta Wale have branded. If Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, and Kofi Kinaata appear here right now, people will follow Shatta Wale and Sarkodie than Kofi Kinaata. Sarkodie and Shatta Wale have the attitude and branded themselves to fall within the category of a star but Kofi Kinaata is not there yet”.
“The people we classified as stars in Ghana, are they really stars? Do they fall within the category of stars? Some people are famous and popular but they cannot fall within the category of a star”.
Winfred Nii Adjayi added that “Kofi Kinaata has succeeded in Takoradi but he is not a star. Kofi Kinaata cannot feel comfortable in Takoradi and think he is a star. His songs are one way like Bisa Kdei because they don’t bring something on board”.
