Government somewhere in 2018 announced plans to deploy additional 8,000 CCTV cameras to the security services as part of measures to fight crime in the country. This 8000 CCTV cameras were said to be deployed in phases.
This forms part of government’s measures to digitise the security services for them to be effective and efficient at work.
In an audio below this article, it was revealed that Government has deployed about 3000 additional CCTV cameras to the Ghana Police service as part of measure to enhance policing.
This 3000 CCTV cameras deployed across the country is said to have a central monitoring centre in Accra, Tamale and Kumasi. The three centres will monitor all the 16 regions.
Government’s assured Ghanaians of it’s commitment to resource the Police Service to combat crime across the country as we are preparing towards elections coming December 7th.
