The perennial water problem plaguing the people of Abrepo Kesse in the Bantama Constituency of the Ashanti Region has become a thing of the past for the community.
This is because the 1 million dollars per Constituency Project instituted by the government has saved residents from the water crisis.
The Project is part of the 1 Constituency 1 million dollar water Projects being implemented by the Ministry of Special Initiative and Development in the country.
The project was awarded to contract in 2018 by the Ministry of Special Initiative and Development.
188 community in the 47 constituencies in the Ashanti Region has benefited from these projects.
The Residents who spoke with Pure FM’s Osei Kwadwo revealed that they have suffered a water crisis situation for several years.
“Before this project by the Ministry, we always had to walk a long distance to fetch water and sometimes because of the long queue, majority of us do not get water,” the residents said
According to them “it is pathetic that a community like Abrepo Kesse is facing water stress. We were so excited when leaders of Ministry of Special Initiative and Development came to our aid; though the project delayed, the challenge has been solved”.
The former Assembly Member for Abrepo Mpatasie Electoral Area Hon Ohemeng Moore said the 1m dollars per constituency water project has removed the burden of water crisis from the residents.
“Our water problem has been solved and the residents are enjoying free water following the announcement by the president in the fight against COVID-19”
