The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Amansie Central District Hon Kwame Asamoah Boateng has stated that the Metropolitan, Municipal and Districts Chief Executives (MMDCEs) in the stronghold of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Ashanti Region tremendous performance secured the party overwhelming victory in the 2020 general elections.
President Akuffo Addo and NPP secured 1,793,773 of the total votes representing 71.64% while former President John Dramani Mahama and the NDC 652,962 of the total votes representing 26.08% in the Ashanti Region in the 2020 general elections.
The Amansie Central DCE Hon Kwame Asamoah Boateng speaking in an exclusive interview with Pure Fm’s Osei Kwadwo monitored by Ghtimesoline.com said MMDCEs in Ashanti Region tremendous performance and hard work convinced people in the region to vote massively for NPP.
According to Hon Kwame Asamoah Boateng, the MMDCEs in the Ashanti Region with the support of Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP Chairman Wontumi and Regional Minister contributed massively to the electoral victory of the NPP during the 2020 elections, so he sees no reason why they should not be given another mandate to continue their good works.
“Maintaining the current MMDCEs especially those in the Ashanti Region where the NPP enjoys a lot of support, will be in the right direction. We worked massively for the party to secured victory in the 2020 general elections and increased NPP votes in Ashanti Region” Hon Asamoah Boateng said.
He added that “It is sad for people to spread false allegations against some MMDCEs that they campaigned against the party in the 2020 elections. It is difficult to accept such allegations because the MMDCEs in the Ashanti Region campaigned massively for NPP and Nana Akuffo Addo to win the elections”.
“Maintaining the MMDCEs will help NPP to win the 2024 elections to help the person to break the 8. I believe Nana Addo will consider MMDCEs in Ashanti Region for working tirelessly for NPP to win more votes in the Ashanti Region”.
“I’m appealing to President Nana Akuffo Addo to maintain MMDCEs especially those in the Ashanti Region because, with the support of Ashanti Regional Chairman of NPP and the regional Minister, we worked hard to secured more votes in the region for NPP”.
“Even the good people of Amansie Central decided not to partake in the 2020 election but because of some developmental projects such as classroom blocks, water, reshaping of roads and others some communities received from the assembly with the support of the government, they were convinced and voted massively for NPP”
Hon Kwame Asamoah Boateng added that “the good policies implemented by government and tremendous performance of MMDCEs in Ashanti Region gave NPP the overwhelming victory in the 2020 general elections”.
