Drivers and residents of Ahodwo-Sokoban in the Nhyiaeso constituency of the Ashanti Region have applauded the government for the swift response to calls to asphalt the Ahodwo-Sokoban roads.
The road which was awarded to Kofi Job Construction Limited was stalled for some months which affected businesses in the community, according to the residents.
Within few months the road has seen massive improvement after Kofi Job Construction Limited went to site to complete the asphalt construction.
Some taxi drivers and residents speaking in an interview with Pure FM’s Osei Kwadwo said the asphalt road construction which has been completed by Kofi Job Construction Limited with the help of the government will boost economic and business activities in the areas.
According to the drivers, the road when neglected collapsed our taxi business and affected our daily sales due to regular maintenance of our vehicles.
“Within few weeks, our taxi business is booming because people are ready to use the road. We work from Sokoban Cindy’s junction to Anyinam new site and it’s environs but our business collapsed because of the dust which was on the road when the road was neglected” they explained.
“Some of our drivers moved their cars from this union to join different associations just to protect their work and get their daily sales for their car owners. We believe they will all come back now that the contractor is done with the asphalt”.
They expressed gratitude and satisfaction to the government and Kofi Job Construction Limited for completing Ahodwo Sokoban road.
They however appealed to the government to award all the deplorable roads in Ashanti Region to contractors and pay contractors to complete roads that have been abandoned in the region.
