Amansie Central Youth Association (ACYA) has threatened to embark on a massive demonstration if the government fails to fix the deplorable road network in the district.

According to the Association, the government should ensure that the contractors working on Jacobu town roads, Jacobu to Fiankoma roads, and other roads within the district which impression were created to the entire people in the district before the election that, they have been awarded to contract to come on-site to continue with what they have already started.

Addressing the media, the President of the association Mr. Ankrah John said a good road network is a major headache for this District because the district cannot boast of a kilometer well-constructed road.

According to Mr. Ankrah John, the poor nature of roads in the district is seriously affecting farmers because they have no alternative to transport their foodstuffs especially cocoa beans.

“Before elections in 2020, we witnessed that, constructors were on the Jacobu town roads. To be specific, Jacobu to Biribiwomanmu road, Jacobu to Fiankoma road, Jacobu to Nkoduase road and Jacobu road to
Esekesu road. As we speak now, we can vividly say that only 30% of the Jacobu road to Finikoma road was partly constructed. With regards to the 30% road partly completed, it is becoming progressively worse now and then of which contractor is nowhere to be found. The worst of these all trauma is that the Jacobu town roads have left with trenches where some people have been falling into, causing a lot of injuries to them” John Ankrah said.

John Ankrahb added Abuakwaa road and Fenaso Nkwanta to Fenaso Fie must be given serious attention.

“We are appealing to authorities in our district to work with the ministry in charge of roads and other appropriate quarters to ensure that, these roads are awarded to construct good roads for the good people of Amansie central District to also benefit from the years of the road”.
