A member of the Ashanti Regional Communication team member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Yaw Opoku Mensah, has charged the Member of Parliament for the North Tongu, Hon Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa to resign from all the committees in parliament if he is no coward.
According to Yaw Opoku Mensah, Okudzeto Ablakwa’s resignation from the Vetting Committee clearly shows that he is not committed and willing to be on any committee in parliament.
The North Tongu MP, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa resigned from Parliament’s Appointments Committee.
In a letter dated March 30, addressed to the Speaker, Alban Kingsford Bagbin, he explained that this was “after days of careful reflection and thoughtful considerations”.
Commenting on Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa’s resignation on the Kukurantumi show on Nhyira FM hosted by Nana Kwadwo Jantuah, monitored by Ghtimesonline.com, he said “Okudzeto Ablakwa resigned from the Vetting Committee to win the heart of the angry and disappointed NDC supporters and protect his seat in parliament”.
“Okudzeto Ablakwa refused to resign after the approval of the first batch of ministers appointed by President Akufo-Addo but he realized the supporters of his party are disappointed, so he had to resign to protect his seat. He resigned based on his selfish interest not the interest of Ghana” Opoku Mensah explained.
“I can boldly say Okudzeto Ablakwa has an agenda to make the NDC leadership unpopular for him to be like a saint to the supporters of the NDC”
