The Chief and the people of Barekese, the district capital of Atwima Nwabiagya North District in the Ashanti Region have urged President Nana Akufo Addo not to reappoint the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Atwima Nwabiagya North District, Hon Rebecca Yeboah.

According to the Concerned Citizens of Barekese, Hon Rebecca Yeboah is a divisive leader whose tendencies and hatred have affected the process of the district.

Addressing the media in Kumasi, the spokesperson of Concerned Citizens of Barekese, Rev Kwame Afreh Acheampong said, the DCE has intended to deprived Barekese of infrastructural and developmental projects due to her parochial interest and hatred for the capital.

Rev Kwame Afreh Acheampong said the DCE for Atwima Nwabiagya North Hon Rebecca Yeboah on several occasions has disrespected the chiefs and the good people of Barekese.

“The incompetent DCE Hon Rebecca Yeboah has planned to relocate the district police headquarters from Barekese, DCE’s residence, district hospital, district Fire station from Barekese to Maaban which they believe will create confusion between the two communities” he explained.

He added that Hon Rebecca Yeboah is interfering in traditional issues in the district which is not the reason why President Akuffo Addo brought her to the district as DCE.

He appealed to President and Local Government Minister and Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, Bernard Antwi Bosiako, aka Chairman Wontumi that they cannot live or work their DCE, Hon Rebecca Yeboah. They have appealed to Nana Addo to appoint a new person as DCE for Atwima Nwabiagya North District// They indicated strongly that they will never tolerate Hon Rebecca Yeboah if she gets another appointment as DCE.
