The former Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister under the erstwhile John Dramani Mahama administration Joseph Yammin has stated categorically that Energy Minister Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh will be the first casualty under President Akuffo Addo’s administration following the current power outages (Dumsor).

Ghanaians have experienced power outages (Dumsor) after the 2020 general elections while others are demanding for Dumsor timetable.

The Energy Minister has appealed to Ghanaians to remain calm as steps are taken to address the intermittent power outages being experienced in some parts of the country.

Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh says there was no way the government would allow the country to slip back into the prolonged period of power outages between 2012 and 2016 which became known as ‘dumsor’.

Speaking in an interview with Kumasi-based Abusua Fm Morning Show hosted by Kojo Marfo monitored by Ghtimesonline.com said, Dr. Matthew Prempeh’s appointment as Energy Minister was a punishment from President Akuffo-Addo to kill Napo’s presidential ambition.

According to Joseph Yammin, Dr. Matthew Prempeh will soon be sacked by President Akuffo-Addo saying President Akuffo Addo doesn’t need him in his government.

“What will make President Akuffo Addo maintained Finance Minister Osafo Marfo, Communication Minister Ursula Owusu, Health Minister Hon. Kwaku Agyemang Manu and changed Napo from Education Ministry to Energy Ministry which he knows Napo have no idea about the energy? Yammin quizzes.

“President Akuffo and his people have planned to sack Napo from his government but because they don’t want people from Ashanti Region to complain that President Akuffo Addo is against his ministers who are from the region, he appointed Napo so when he (President Akuffo Addo) sack him, they will tag Napo for not performing,” Yammin said.

Yammin added that “Napo seems not to understand the current power situation Ghanaians are facing and he will find it difficult to solve the problem. If he failed to solve the problem then President Akuffo Addo will get the opportunity to sack him as they have planned”.
