The Leadership of Graduate Physician Assistants Association of Ghana (GRAPAG) is calling on Hon Minister for Health, Regional Minister, the Municipal Chief Executive-Obuasi, the Chief Executive Officer of NHIA and Director General, Ghana Health Service to probe and interdict the acting Obuasi Municipal Health and Abettors for NHIS fraud and staff persecution at Anyinam clinic.
A statement signed by the President of Leadership of Graduate Physician Assistants Association of Ghana (GRAPAG) Anthony A. Arkoh indicates that the Obuasi Municipal Health Directorate under the current Ag. Municipal Director of Ghana Health Services undermines
the effective operations of NHIS at the sub-district with serial victimization of opposing Physician Assistants, Midwives and Nurses.
According to Anthony A. Arkoh, Staff are compelled to contribute from their pockets to smooth run the facility like many sub-districts in Ghana while the corrupt spenders and regional cohorts persecute any opposition.
“Having secured provisional NHIS credentialing to Anyinam clinic(level A), PA Richmond Osei Bonsu
was victimized and reposted along with a registered midwife and an Enrolled Nurse (trained on claims relieved of duties) after insisting the facility generate own Claims Check Code (CCC) specific to Anyinam clinic (Level A) and proper bank account for the facility” He explained.
Anthony Arkoh added “Prior to the above, another Physician Assistant was victimized and reposted from the Central Market Clinic to Obuasi government hospital whiles threatening to repost the facility head at Kunka Health Centre”
“Leadership upon receiving evidence including incriminating phone recordings, threats and documents by the Ag Municipal Director of Health, Margaret Yaa Menu and abbetors, referred the matter to the Ashanti Regional Health Directorate but was treated with disdain by the Deputy Director
of Clinical Care who has been captured saying “that is how the system runs” he added.
Leadership commends the government’s commitment to Physician Assistants who are not only competent clinicians but trained sub-district administrators accountable even under debilitating conditions;
many are not in the good records of corrupt district health directors misappropriating the
sub-district revenue as evident at Anyinam Clinic, Obuasi.
We are calling on the Hon Minister for Health, Ashanti Regional Minister, the Municipal Chief Executive-Obuasi, The CEO of NHIA and Director General, Ghana Health Service to probe the matter with urgency and interdict the Ag. Municipal Director of Health Services.
