The former deputy Ashanti Regional Minister under the erstwhile John Dramani Mahama administration, Joseph Yammin has stated emphatically that President Akuffo-Addo was in hurry to collapse businesses and mismanage the economy.
President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo after his first term swearing-in told Ghanaians that he will never slow down in the quest to ensure that Ghana is put on the path to economic growth.
“Mr. Speaker, six months after my swearing-in ceremony, I have been able to put my team that will help me to govern this great nation. I have heard some people saying that he [Akufo-Addo] is behaving like a man in a hurry.”
“Mr. Speaker, I am indeed in a hurry and in a great hurry”, he noted.
Joseph Yammin in an interview with Ghtimesonline.com said President Akuffo-Addo’s ‘I’m in a hurry’ statement pushed him to make reckless decisions that have collapsed businesses and the progress of the economy.
According to Joseph Yammin “The same man who was in a hurry and appointed elephant size Ministers during his first time cannot even appoint his deputy Ministers in his second term”.
“After driving Ghana into a ditch with I’m in a hurry, President Akuffo-Addo is no longer in a hurry to transform the economy and revive the businesses he collapsed,” Yammin said.
“President Akuffo-Addo was in a hurry in his first term to enrich himself, collapsing businesses, appointing his family members as Ministers, but not to transform Ghana’s economy. Now he (President Akuffo-Addo) has achieved all that he wanted to achieve as a President, so he is no longer in a hurry to transform the economy he has collapsed”.
