The Founder and Leader of United Progressive Party (UPP) Mr. AKwasi Addai Odike has lambasted the supporters of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) for tagging the people criticizing President Akuffo Addo’s government as ‘bribe takers’.
According to Akwasi Addai Odike, NPP supporters think President Akuffo Addo’s government critics have been bribed just to make Nana Addo’s government unpopular, that’s madness.
Speaking on Kumasi-based Nhyira Fm Kukurantumi Show hosted by Nana Kwadwo Jauntuah monitored by Ghtimesonline.com Akwasi Addai Odike said the problems confronting Ghana, be they in the form of the rising cost of living, rising levels of unemployment, high utility tariffs, the decline in agricultural and industrial output, amongst others, is because PresidentAkuffo Addo has “no plan, vision or action to address the problems of our people.”
“It would be a mistake to continue with where we are now. So many of the important aspects of our national life, today, are all in retreat. Our economy is in poor shape, and I don’t think there is any honest person in this country, today, who can say Ghana’s economy is working well. It is not working well” Odike said.
“People including NPP supporters will call you on phone and on radio and television shows to tag those criticizing incompetent President Akuffo Addo’s government as bribe-takers while they have no evidence. That nonsense must stop because when people were criticizing former President Akuffo Addo’s government, Nana Addo and his people were happy”.
He added “I will never stop criticizing President Akuffo Addo’s government because Akuffo Addo and his appointees are mismanaging the economy and some of us will continue to put them on their toes.
“Tagging me as a bribe-taker because I have been criticizing President Akuffo Addo’s government will never stop me from fighting for the betterment of this country. So people think we should keep quiet and clap for President Akuffo Addo’s for mismanaging and sinking the economy”.
