Kumawood Actor, Michael Afrane has stated emphatically that the Kumawood Movie Industry has not collapsed but the industry is rather in a coma.

Kumawood Movie Industry is going through challenges that have affected producers in the industry making them unable to produce new movies.

In an interview with Pure Fm’s Osei Kwadwo monitored by ghtimesonline.com, Michael Afrane explained that Kumawood Movie Industry will bounce back if the government supports the industry to produce new movies.

According to Michael Afrane, due to the challenges the industry is going through, the producers have lost their capital to produce new movies.

“Things are very bad for the industry and when you look at the challenges the industry is facing, it may look that the industry has collapsed but it is not true. Kumawood Movie Industry is still in a coma and it will surely bounce back” Micheal Afrane explained.

“Government should support the producers and the industry players to produce more movies which will revive the industry. The producers are going through a serious financial crisis and it will be difficult for them to produce new movies to revive the industry without the help of government”.

He added that “Kumawood Movie Industry when revived will create thousands of employment to reduce the unemployment rate in the country”.

“I’m appealing to the government to listen to the cry of our producers, actors, and Ghanaians to support the producers to revive the industry,” Micheal Afrane said
