The Minister of State, at the Works and Housing Ministry, Honourable Dr. Freda Prempeh(MP), this morning paid a courtesy call on Goaso Omanhene and the Ahafo Regional Minister.
The Minister who doubles as a Member of Parliament for the Tano North Constituency in the Ahafo Region ceased the occasion to seek and solicit for lands for the affordable housing project to be constructed in Goaso.
Nana Kwasi Bosompra I expressed gratitude to the Minister for a great and timely project in the Regional Capital since it was going to help ease the pressure on housing upon the creation of the Region.
Without mincing words, the Omanhene of Goaso praised the Minister’s humility and hardworking nature and urged her to keep the good works.
Based on an advanced arrangement, Nana Kwasi Bosompra I handed a 30 acre of land to the Minister in order for the project to begin.
Honorable Dr. Freda Prempeh, explaining the project indicated that the Ministry intends to ease pressure on housing across the country, especially in the newly created Regions.
She further stressed the Ministry is currently acquiring land banks across the country for similar purposes.
She was therefore happy and expressed gratitude to Nana Kwasi Bosompra for demarcating his land for such a big project. She was also assured of 25 acres of land from the Regional Coordinating Council.
Dr. Freda Prempeh indicated that government will collaborate with the private sector to ensure the successful completion of the project.
She added that local content, in terms of materials, technology and personnel shall be employed in constructing the project.
The project if completed will provide about 2500 units which some will be given out for rent, Rent to Own and some will go for outright sale.
