The National Democratic Congress (NDC) former Vice Chairman in the Nhyiaeso Constituency Mawuli Ekpe popularly known as Abro, has revealed that NDC party communicators across the country were trained two weeks in a hotel to criticize Free Senior High School policy.
In 2008, the then flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Akuffo-Addo promised to introduce Free Senior High School (FSHS) to ensure that every Ghanaian child gets access to Senior High School.
The Free SHS campaign promise by Nana Akuffo-Addo received criticism from the members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Speaking in an interview with Pure Fm’s Osei Kwadwo monitored by Ghtimesonline.com, Mawuli Ekpe said “NDC members and communicators criticized Free SHS policy because they were trained two (2) in a hotel to do that”.
According to him “Free SHS promise by NPP and Nana Akuffo-Addo became a nightmare for NDC and the only way is to fight the policy to prevent NPP and Nana Akuffo-Addo from winning the power in 2008”.
“When it comes to propaganda, no political party in this world can compete with NDC. The party leadership can train the communicators just to come out to lie and deceive Ghanaians, just to secure power”, Abro said.
“When Nana Akuffo-Addo promised Free SHS policy, even John Dramani Mahama was aware that implementation of the policy is feasible but we were trained to criticize the policy”.
“Now Ghanaians are enjoying Free SHS, the policy which John Dramani Mahama and NDC told Ghanaians that Ghana can implement Free SHS in 20 years time. Nana Akuffo-Addo promised to implement Free SHS when he wins power, John Mahama and NDC told Ghanaians that Ghana can implement Free SHS after 20 years”
