There have been a state of fear and panic in the country over an allegations made by the largest opposition party that the ruling political party in Ghana led by President Akuffo Addo has deployed number of military men to their strong hold to stop people from the Volta region to register for the upcoming national elections coming December
Hon Dominic Nitiwul, the minister for defence has come out to discredit the allegations made by the National Democratic congress party by releasing the lists of number of military men deployed to border regions in the country
According to him, 1 officer with 105 men were deployed to the Nothern region, 8 officers with 199 men to Upper East, 2 officers with 70 men to Oti region, 4 officers 65 men to Upper West, 21 men to Savannah, Bono region 44, and 1 officer 13 men to Western region
He explained that, the opposition party just want to score political points and that’s the reason for such serious allegations.
He further added that the military was deployed to protect the borders in this time of COVID19
